Have you ever had the experience of buying a brand new pair of trail shoes, and being excited to take them out, only to realise you have to traverse painful concrete in your aggressive lugs just to get to your local trail route? Well, your not the only one, and the the crossover point in your journey can certainly be very frustrating, and has stopped many a runner from full enjoyment in the past.
Well, the New Balance Hierro aims to put all of these unfortunate realities of life to death, with the perfect mixture of a road shoe capable of withstanding extreme trail. It employs more milder lugs than most trail shoes, yet the deep gripped sole still has the ability to gain traction, even in the most difficult of terrain. Alongside a Fresh Foam midsole that gives cushioning and protection (also found in New Balance's successful Zante and 980 ranges), a 4mm drop also provides a more natural feel on the move.
Named after the wildest of the Canary Islands, the Hierro is the best of both worlds - a shoe designed so you can enjoy the start, middle and end of you runs, regardless of where hard concrete appears!
